This study aims to determine the effect of workload and compensation on the performance of employees of the Regional Government Secretariat of East Lombok Regency. The study was conducted at the Regional Government of East Lombok Regency, namely the East Lombok Regent's Office. The Regional Government of East Lombok Regency is located on JL. Pahlawan, Special City of Selong, Selong District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The number of samples was 76 people, using the probability sampling method. The data analysis technique applied was multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis answered that workload had a negative and significant effect on employee performance. This effect means that the lower the employee's workload, the higher the employee's performance towards the Regional Government Secretariat of East Lombok Regency. The results also showed that Compensation had a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. This means that compensation affects the high and low performance of employees of the Regional Government Secretariat of East Lombok Regency. The leadership should pay attention to giving workload to employees according to the abilities and expertise of each employee, so that employees can feel more comfortable in doing their jobs.
