Production cooperatives are a type of cooperative that focuses on processing raw materials into finished goods. This cooperative is usually joined by micro and medium entrepreneurs who have certain production activities. The main function of production cooperatives is to provide raw materials, production equipment, and assist in marketing the production results of its members, while consumption cooperatives are cooperatives that provide daily needs for their members at more affordable prices than the general market. This cooperative aims to meet basic needs such as rice, oil, and other foodstuffs. The purpose of this study is to examine the mechanism for developing production and consumption cooperatives in Manggala Village. Based on the results of the study, it was found that Menggala Village has great potential to develop production and consumption cooperatives, considering the wealth of natural resources, availability of labor, and existing market potential. However, the development of this cooperative is also faced with various obstacles, both internal and external. Internal obstacles often faced by cooperatives include lack of quality human resources, weak organizational structures, limited capital, and low member participation. Meanwhile, external obstacles include business competition, less supportive government policies, unstable economic conditions, and natural disasters.
