POLA PENGASUHAN ORANG TUA PADA ANAK USIA DINI DALAM PENGEMBANGAN KARAKTER ANAK DI TK AL HIKMAH SUMBER SARI, MUSI RAWAS UTARA

Abstract

The parenting style applied by parents can influence the character of children, especially in early childhood which is the age of child development, therefore, in character development, especially about others or in social contexts, it is essential to instill these qualities as preparation for the future. The purpose of this study is to describe the parenting patterns of parents in the family towards early childhood at Al-Hikmah Kindergarten and to describe the value of character education that is in contrast to others carried out by early childhood at Al-Hikmah Sumber Sari Musi Rawas Utara Kindergarten. The method used was qualitative with data collection techniques involving observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques employed reduction, classification, presentation, interpretation, and data conclusion. This research was conducted at Al-Hikmah Sumber Sari Kindergarten, North Musi Rawas, starting from April to May 2023. The results of the study show that the parenting style that is applied by parents is gentle parenting with gentleness following the wishes of the child, gentleness, and affection so that the child will also obey the wishes of the parents. In addition, some parents apply authoritarian parenting patterns with a hard and rude parental attitude so that children obey their parents' wishes. The implementation of parenting patterns by parents will influence the development of early childhood character, especially the character of relationships with peers within the home and school environment. It is very positive, indicating that the child has self-confidence in dealing with older individuals and possesses a strong sense of curiosity.
