Abstract

This research aims to find out the role of an Intergovernmental Organization, namely the World Food Program, in helping the Lebanese country overcome the food crisis in 2018-2023. The country of Lebanon is experiencing a food crisis caused by the economic crisis and made worse by the COVID 19 pandemic and the explosion at the Port of Beirut. The research method that the author used to conduct this research is a qualitative method and secondary data sources, namely research data sources that the author obtained indirectly. direct. In this research, the secondary data that the author obtained consisted of various sources through literature study, namely, books, websites, articles and other sources related to the research problem. The results of this research are that the World Food Program has succeeded in fulfilling the two roles of the Intergovernmental Organization by Clive Archer by using three factors to analyze the role of the World Food Program, namely Instrument, Arena, and Actor. The results of this research are that the World Food Program has succeeded in fulfilling two roles, namely the Intergovernmental Organization, namely as an instrument and an actor. The World Food Program will continue to provide assistance to the Lebanese state, both for the Lebanese people themselves and vulnerable refugees until 2022 and beyond with plans to continue responding to this crisis in the Country Strategic Plan for the coming year.
