Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Analyze the cultivation process; (2) Analyzing costs and income (3) Analyzing business feasibility; (4) Analyze the prospects for developing the maggot cultivation business in Mataram City. The method used in this research is a descriptive method, the unit of analysis is the magot cultivation business in Mataram City. Respondents were determined using the census method, namely 16 cultivators and 4 managers of the Mataram Magot Center. The types of data used are qualitative data and quantitative data. The data sources used are primary data and secondary data. The data collection technique was carried out using the survey method. The data analysis used is cost analysis, income, R/C, BEP, and SWOT analysis. The research results show that: (1) The maggot cultivation process starts from the egg hatching process which takes 3-4 days to become baby maggots. The baby maggots are then transferred to biopond media to grow for 14-21 days, and the maggots can be harvested for marketing. (2) The costs incurred by maggot cultivators in Mataram City for one production are IDR 259,643 and IDR 1,298,215 for a month. The income obtained in one production is IDR 240,116.22, and in a month it is IDR 1,200,581.10. (3) The R/C value (1.9) > 1 and the Break Event Point (BEP) value indicates that the production, revenue and price values ​​are greater than the production BEP, revenue BEP and price BEP so that the maggot cultivation business is in a viable condition to be developed. (4) The results of the SWOT analysis show that the magot cultivation business in Mataram City is in quadrant 1, which means that the business is in a situation that has good prospects for development.
