Abstract

Mapin Beru is one of the villages in the Alas Barat subdistrict, Sumbawa Regency. The residents of Mapin Beru village currently do not have a proper waste disposal facility, resulting in waste being dumped into rivers and along roadsides. This not only diminishes aesthetic value but also pollutes river water and poses health risks to the community. This research was conducted with the aim of planning the development of a TPS3R waste management facility. The method used in this study was quantitative descriptive, involving literature review and direct observation. The results of the study indicated the volume and composition of waste generated in the village. Waste sampling conducted over eight days showed a waste generation rate of 0.7 kg/person/day, amounting to a total of 1,067.82 kg/day for all residents of Mapin Beru. The waste volume was calculated at 7.03 m³/person/day, which totals 9.62407 m³/day for the entire population of the village. As for waste composition, the study found that organic waste constituted an average of 70%, followed by plastic waste at 12%, cardboard at 2%, bottles at 9%, paper at 1%, tissue at 2%, fabric at 2%, and glass at 0.4%. The planning for the TPS3R facility in this study requires an area of 205 m², which includes sections for receiving, storing, and shredding organic waste. These activities form the primary components of the TPS3R plan. Additionally, facilities for toilets, office space, a guard post, and a septic tank are also included in the design.
