Abstract

The development of a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) is a strategic effort to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and hospital governance. This study aims to analyze the development of the HMIS at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province in supporting the improvement of the achievement of the Director’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach through document studies, interviews with management and HMIS users, and observation of hospital service business processes.
The results show that the development of an integrated and real-time HMIS can improve data accuracy, accelerate service processes, and support performance reporting and managerial decision-making. Key features contributing to KPI achievement include the integration of clinical and administrative modules, performance dashboards, and enhanced data security and reliability. In addition, the success of HMIS implementation is strongly influenced by infrastructure readiness and human resource competencies.
In conclusion, a well-planned and sustainable HMIS development plays an important role in improving the achievement of the Director’s KPIs at the RSUD of NTB Province and in realizing effective, transparent, and quality-oriented hospital governance.
